Space-Related Experiences

The San Diego Space Society not only provides various opportunities to build space-related projects, but is also working to facilitate opportunities for members to have real space-related experiences.  These may include, but are not limited to:

  • Space Industry Tours
  • Weightlessness Training
  • Underwater Training
  • High Altitude Training
  • Centrifuge Training
  • Astronaut Training
  • Suborbital Flights
  • and someday, Orbital flights and beyond!

Mission Mars

One of the first experience projects being developed is Mission Mars. In collaboration with the Mars Society and utilizing their Mars Desert Research Station (MDRS) – a Mars habitat analog based in Hanksville, Utah – SD Space proposes a six month educational Mars Mission culminating in a two week stay at MDRS.

All aspects of the project still need to be developed, so get involved early on in this exciting opportunity. Mission designs, Marsnauts, fundraising, etc all need to be brought together.

Interested? Go to the Mission Mars project page for current status, photos and work to be done.

Get Involved

As these opportunities are developed, you could be the one who gets to live the experience of a lifetime!  If you are interested in participating in these amazing experiences, please join SD Space by going online or stop by the Space Travelers Emporium and ask how you can become a member and become involved in the various space-related programs.

Check the event calendar for the next Project Sessions. And for more information, send an email to info@sdspace.org.
